Ping Eye 2 Irons were released over 20 years ago. Many golfers have bought their first set over 20 years ago and still use them today. There was a lawsuit in the 1990’s which allowed Ping Wedges manufactured before 1990 to be allowed in any competition, regardless of any new regulations. Many big players such as Phil Mickelson and John Daly used Ping Eye 2 Irons initially. Regardless of the lawsuit, the CEO of ping decided to agree to the USPGA’s demands, making Ping’s Eye 2 clubs banned from all future tours.
